​What are the application requirements?

• 2-3 years professional experience
• Must identify as Black/African-American 
• Alumni of MAIP, Marcus Graham, D&AD, The One School or BLAC
• Eligible to work in the US
• Proof of Vaccination Status
• NY or LA based preferred

What is the difference between a fellowship and an internship?
Internships are usually paid hourly and tied to an academic/institution program for individuals with little to no prior experience. 
A fellowship is typically a post-traditional undergraduate/graduate program that requires more previous professional experience and specialization and includes a stipend.

Applicants will be asked to show a bit of their style and creativity through a creative assignment, and will need to select ONE creative assignment based on the discipline they select in the application.

1. (Copywriting) Take a line from a song you love. Turn this line into a tag line for a product, and write a series of 5 print ads based on that tag line/a product manifesto. Include the song you are using. In less than 300 words, explain your reasoning behind this campaign.

 

1. (Art Direction/Design) ​Create a storyboard to explain how you would brand your Black experience. Make sure to keep in mind a color palette, photography, typography, textures, etc.  In less than 300 words, briefly describe the meaning behind your storyboard of the Black experience and why you chose to use such elements.

1. (Art Direction/Design) An artist you love is rebranding, and they want you to art direct their new look. Design their new look, and include assets they can use for print, billboards, album covers and/or vinyl designs, and social pages. In less than 300 words, explain your artist's new direction.
