Black History Month is often short-lived as it is only celebrated in the shortest month of the year. It’s often retrospective and generally leans more toward acknowledgment of the contributions of Black people rather than encouraging action. To address this, The 4A’s Foundation has created an initiative entitled, 365BLACKPRINT.
We at the 4A’s Foundation believe we play a pivotal role in advancing social justice and to assist us along that journey, we are excited to announce a new initiative, 365BLACKPRINT: Black History Reimagined; an initiative focused on celebrating Black talent in the industry all 365 days of the year. Throughout 2021, we will honor Black industry trailblazers and up-and-coming disruptors. We will also help to define the future for incoming Black professionals and create a pathway for success for Black talent.

365BLACKPRINT Initiative Timeline
Mirrored after a traditional blueprint, 365BLACKPRINT is designed to drive specific action through quarterly themes throughout the year. We’ve looked at Black History through the lens of Honoring the Past, Holding the Torch, Defining the Future and Lifting as we Climb. 365BLACKPRINT will address the following themes to move toward an equitable future for Black people in the advertising industry.
Honoring The Past
Before we can move toward a more equitable future for Black people, we first must honor the Black trailblazers that came before us. We aim to center our efforts in magnifying the stories and impact of Black trailblazers in the advertising industry.
Holding The Torch
As Black trailblazers have laid the foundation for up and coming Black talent, it is important to focus our attention on those who are breaking glass ceilings and knocking down new doors in Black culture.
Defining the Future
Once such barriers have been broken, we urge the industry to be more attentive to the impact of recruiting, retaining, and growing black talent as well as understanding the role of active allyship.
Lifting as we climb
Now that we have a clear understanding of the impact of Black people in the advertising industry, it is our responsibility to share resources and information to the next generation of Black talent to create a pathway to success.

Target Audience
As celebrations around Black History have often targeted the Black community,
it is our goal to center our collective information sharing with the broader industry.
