Since 2020 our organizations have implemented many practices, policies and programs to address the inequities that exist in our agencies and the industry overall. We’ve made some progress, but we still have a long way to go. The Equity & Inclusion Congress was established to create an industry-led commitment to accelerate diversity, equity and inclusion on a national scale, including key industry initiatives, goals and actions. The 2020 Congress resulted in a dedicated Manifesto designed for the industry, by the industry, free from individual organizational objectives, competition or bias. Following the 2021 Congress we created a Playbook to help organizations operationalize regardless of where they may be along their DEIB journey.

The 2022 convening will be a powerful one-day virtual event that brings together DEI and Talent leaders, practitioners, activists, and C-suite leaders, to discuss and provide actionable solutions around three critical areas: Protecting Our Work, Accountability, and Commitment. The day will feature a Keynote and these powerful sessions:

Protecting Our Work
The work of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging needs to be protected. Not only in the face of economic uncertainty and other competing business needs, but every single day. How deeply is it embedded in your organization? What gets prioritized? Who are your key stakeholders? We also know that this is deep, personal, and heavy work. How are we protecting ourselves and our fellow practitioners who are on the front lines? How do we protect our movement as a whole? 

Accountability
You’ve heard us say that those of us who hold the power must continue to show through our actions and words that we are serious about delivering on the promises made. We also know the adage that ‘what gets measured gets done’. This year we’ll sit down with some C-Suite leaders to discuss Accountability. How are they partnering with their own DEIB leaders? How are they holding themselves accountable for the role they have in doing the work? ​

Our Commitment
We say we are Committed to Action. How does this play out within our organizations? What does commitment look like both internally, and externally? How is this work discussed and lived out with our Teams, Clients, Vendors, and other external partners?  What does our commitment currently look like in action, and what should it look like?
