Alexis M. AgostoAs a prior Academic Counselor for first generation, low-income college students at Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey, Alexis is well versed in student needs, university systems, and diversity/inclusion efforts. Her strengths range from scholarship creation and financial assistance programs, to career tracking/professional development, and providing personal, academic and professional counseling to students. Previous to her role as an Academic Counselor, Alexis served as a Mental Health Counselor for adolescents and young adults.
Born in Jersey City NJ and raised in Puerto Rico for part of her life, Alexis is passionate about creating spaces that are inclusive of women, in particular women of color. Prior to leaving her role at Saint Peter’s University, Alexis Co-founded Young Women’s Empowerment, a group designed to provide collegiate women of color opportunities for sisterhood, discussion of various topics affecting women today, and development of best practices with regard to mental wellness. As the current Manager of Talent, Engagement and Inclusion for the 4A’s Foundation, Alexis’ focus resides in strengthening the MAIP Alumni community and creating a more robust scholarship program for both high school and college students. During her free time Alexis enjoys dancing salsa, traveling, and mentoring college students. |
